Maintain behavioral discipline and focus on the special needs of students being transported on district buses.

• High School Diploma or state-approved High School Equivalency (HSE) preferred.
• Minimum of six (6) months of experience in working with students with disabilities preferred.
• Knowledge of proper use of bus safety devices, including, but not limited to, those used with students with physical disabilities, and student behavioral management skills.
• Ability to assist others with wheel chair safety and emergency evacuation procedures, operate a two-way radio, push/pull/secure wheelchairs.
• Proven ability to work with others in a confidential, cooperative, and service-oriented manner; excellent listening and communication skills.
• Ability to be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
• Ability to be present at the physical worksite.
• Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly in emergency situations.         
• May be regularly required to stand, sit, crouch, crawl, push/pull, and lift up to 50lbs; greater weights with assistance.

• Monitor students; attend to needs of special needs students and maintain behavioral discipline.
• Operate wheelchair lifts as students enter and disembark the school bus.
• Assist with securing transportation safety devices for students while bus is in transit.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
