POSITION SUMMARY
Provide quality instruction and implement the curriculum for assigned students. Establish, foster, facilitate, and maintain a safe and secure classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
QUALIFICATIONS
Certifications, Licenses or Permits:
Valid Georgia Educator Certificate in appropriate field, or meet the district's professional qualifications.
Valid Professional Standards Commission (PSC) subject-specific endorsements if required by the position held.
Education, Experience, and Other Requirements:
Proven ability to work with others in a confidential, cooperative, and service-oriented manner; excellent listening and communication skills.
Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
Ability to be present at the physical worksite.
May be regularly required to walk, stand, sit, crouch, crawl, push/pull, and lift up to 50lbs.
Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans, instructional materials, and supplemental materials that facilitate active learning.
Instruct and monitor students following appropriate and effective pedagogical practices.
Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
Provide appropriate and meaningful feedback on student work.
Observe, assess, and document student performance and development.
Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development.
Assign and grade classwork, homework, assessments, and assignments.
Participate in district, school, department, and parent meetings.
Assess, document and prepare reports such as achievement progress, grade and classroom performance, and attendance.
Perform general instruction coordination duties such as ordering materials, attending meetings, and engaging in various forms or correspondence.
Attend professional learning sessions and/or required conferences and apply concepts learned to classroom and school activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
