POSITION SUMMARY Provide quality instruction and implement the curriculum for assigned students.  Establish, foster, facilitate, and maintain a safe and secure classroom environment that is conducive to learning.

QUALIFICATIONS

Certifications, Licenses or Permits: 

• Valid Georgia Educator Certificate in appropriate field, or meet the district's professional qualifications.
• Valid Professional Standards Commission (PSC) subject-specific endorsements if required by the position held.

Education, Experience, and Other Requirements:

• Proven ability to work with others in a confidential, cooperative, and service-oriented manner; excellent listening and communication skills.
• Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
• Ability to be present at the physical worksite.
• May be regularly required to walk, stand, sit, crouch, crawl, push/pull, and lift up to 50lbs.
• Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans, instructional materials, and supplemental materials that facilitate active learning.
• Instruct and monitor students following appropriate and effective pedagogical practices.
• Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
• Provide appropriate and meaningful feedback on student work.
• Observe, assess, and document student performance and development.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development.
• Assign and grade classwork, homework, assessments, and assignments.
• Participate in district, school, department, and parent meetings.
• Assess, document and prepare reports such as achievement progress, grade and classroom performance, and attendance.
• Perform general instruction coordination duties such as ordering materials, attending meetings, and engaging in various forms or correspondence.
• Attend professional learning sessions and/or required conferences and apply concepts learned to classroom and school activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
